Fava Beans
Those magic beans which grew overnight into a beanstalk that reached into the clouds were most likely fava beans. Despite their name, Fava Beans are actually not beans at all; rather, they belong to the pea family.
Fava beans have long been diet staples in the Mediterranean region, especially in Italy, Portugal, France, Greece and Egypt. They are also popular in Asia, the Middle East, South America, North Africa and in other parts of Europe. Fava beans now have a growing following in the US due to their buttery texture and slight bitterness, rich, nutty flavor, versatility, and their high content of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and L-Dopa (see Health Facts for more info).
Our Products
Currently, we have two lines of products in the market:
The Fava Hummus line - these are creamy and delicate, similar in texture to hummus, but made using fava beans instead of chickpeas.
The Hearty Fava Dip line - these signature, versatile fava dips are chunky in texture with a rich,
nutty flavor.
Only the highest quality natural ingredients are used to make Fava hummus and dips. Some examples include extra virgin olive oil, Greek Kalamata olives, Calabrian peppers, California-grown garlic, and sea salt.
